What changed for 2026/27
Personal allowance, income tax thresholds and NIC bands stay frozen until April 2028.
Plan 5 student loans hit the £25,000 threshold for the first time this year. Plan 2 rose to £29,385.
Class 4 NIC remains at 6% / 2%; Class 2 stays abolished for sole traders.
HICBC threshold is £60,000, with 100% of Child Benefit repayable at £80,000 (post-April 2024).
Dividend allowance £500, CGT annual exempt amount £3,000.
Corporation tax 19% small profits rate, 25% main rate; 26.5% effective marginal between £50k and £250k.
